The spaces we inhabit hold the power to inspire and enlighten us about our own identities. At Florida Water Interiors, we view our work as a gift to the land: a process of transforming space into place. We specialize in creating environments with purpose—spaces where individuals come to rejuvenate, reflect, create, engage, and find solace.
Through our designs, we forge connections and deepen our understanding of both others and ourselves. In the words of Sun Ra, "space is the place." Guided by the Swahili concept of "Nafasi"—signifying space, opportunity, and potential—we approach every project intending to leave spaces enriched, resonating with emotion and purpose. Currently, we are in the final stages of a ground-up construction project: a mutual aid grocery store. Our involvement spans from collaborating with the general contractor to designing lighting and flooring, while also seeking guidance from the nonprofit that stewards the space to ensure it aligns with the community's needs. Our vision is to elevate the service building into a stunning, inviting, and inclusive space that draws people in and fosters a sense of belonging for all.
Within the spaces Florida Water Interiors designs, narratives unfold. Whether it's a home, a restaurant, a community hub, or an office, each room has a story to tell—a silent language that speaks directly to our souls. This is no accident; it's the magic of space. The enchantment of space is truly felt when we are present. We believe that design should enhance space in a way that brings everyone to the present moment.
Central to our ethos is a spirit of collaboration. We operate within a vibrant ecosystem of clients spanning residential, corporate, and commercial sectors, as well as a diverse collective of global artisans, muralists, custom furniture designers, architects, interior architects, and artists across various mediums; all brought together under the guidance of Chopp, the founder and principal interior designer of Florida Water Interiors—a namesake inspired by the purifying elixir "Florida Water". Chopp excels in crafting vibrant, safe, and inviting indoor and outdoor environments. With over two decades of experience as an educator, community activist, and wellness advocate, Chopp consistently collaborates with local partners to infuse wonder and connection into both public and private spaces, aiming to make them havens of inspiration and learning for all. The work of Florida Water Interiors has been recognized in prestigious publications such as The New York Times, Apartment Therapy, Architectural Digest, and more.
We hold MWBE certification and have successfully completed over 40 residential and commercial projects.
